Live Better For Less

Seven expert hosts across Europe help households declutter, change habits and live better for less.

Every home has more value than you think

Every home in Europe has more value hiding in it than the people living there realise. In wardrobes full of things never worn. In spare rooms quietly taken over by things never dealt with. In habits nobody has stopped to question because life has always been too busy.

Live Better For Less sets out to change that. Across seven countries, seven expert hosts visit real households with real goals, and help them see the value in what they already own in a completely different light. Each episode pairs a native host with a colleague from another country, bringing fresh eyes and a different cultural perspective to a challenge that turns out to be surprisingly universal.

Because whether you're just outside London in Dartford or Delft, Warsaw or Madrid, the patterns are remarkably similar. The things we accumulate. The spaces we avoid. The habits we've stopped questioning. And the goals, some practical, some deeply personal, that feel just out of reach until someone helps you look at things differently.

Live Better For Less goes further than a clear out. It's about the habits quietly shaping each household, the convenience spending that adds up faster than anyone realised, the impulse buying that never quite stops, the space that's been waiting for attention for years. And it's about what becomes possible when those habits start to change.

Motsi Mabuse (UK), Riccardo Simonetti (Germany), Chimène van Oosterhout (Netherlands), Alexandre Cressiot (France), Agnieszka Witkowska (Poland), Juan Avellaneda (Spain) and Lodovica Comello (Italy) each bring their own perspective to a challenge that is, at its heart, the same everywhere. Time to Live Better For Less.

Episode 1 · United Kingdom

Dartford, just outside London · hosted by Motsi Mabuse & Riccardo Simonetti

Motsi Mabuse and Riccardo Simonetti in the UK episode of Live Better For Less

Kaysh and Chloe have a big dream and a home full of untapped potential. Motsi and Riccardo arrive in Dartford, just outside London, to show them what's possible when you start looking at what you already have differently.

Read the full episode synopsis

Kaysh and Chloe have already achieved a lot. They've bought their first home in Dartford, just outside London, and renovated it themselves, room by room, wall by wall. Every corner of the house is a testament to the work they've put in. But there's a goal they're working towards that still feels, right now, a very long way off.

When Motsi Mabuse and Riccardo Simonetti arrive, they find a home that tells more than one story. On the surface, it's a house that two people have clearly poured everything into. Look a little closer and another story starts to emerge, one about the habits, the spaces and the patterns that have been quietly working against Kaysh and Chloe without either of them fully realising it.

There is more potential in this home than they've given it credit for. And more to change than they expected.

The UK is a country full of homes just like this one. Full of things accumulated without anyone quite noticing. Full of habits nobody has stopped to question. Kaysh and Chloe aren't unusual. They're just honest about it.

What follows is a look at what you already have, and what you've been doing with it, in a completely different way. About the value hiding in plain sight when nobody has been looking for it. About what becomes possible when two people who've already worked so hard finally get the perspective they need.

Kaysh and Chloe deserve the life they're working towards. They might be a lot closer to it than they think.

Episode 2 · Italy

Milan · hosted by Chimène van Oosterhout & Lodovica Comello

Alessandra sorting through keepsakes in her Milan home, Live Better For Less Italy

Alessandra's Milan home is full of beautiful things, each one carrying a memory, a story, or a connection to her loved ones. Chimène and Lodovica arrive to help her see that letting go doesn't mean letting go of memories as she aims for a special surprise for her niece.

Read the full episode synopsis

Alessandra's Milan home is filled with a lifetime of beautiful, carefully kept things. Every item has a story. Every corner holds a memory. And for Alessandra, that's exactly what makes what comes next so difficult.

She has a goal, one rooted in family, love and a connection she holds very close to her heart. But getting there requires making decisions she has been putting off for a long time. Decisions about things tied not just to who she is, but to the people she loves most. For someone who has never willingly let go of anything, that's no small thing.

When Chimène and Lodovica arrive, they find a home unlike any they've visited before. Warm, personal, full of meaning. But also full in ways that are quietly holding Alessandra back. Her attachment to the things around her runs deep, and unpicking that will take patience, care and no small amount of heart.

Alessandra's home is filled with things that carry memories. Letting go of them isn't simply a practical decision; each object is tied to a moment, a person or a part of her life. The challenge is helping her see that letting go of an item doesn't mean letting go of the memory attached to it.

For Chimène and Lodovica, it quickly becomes clear that this visit will be different. What they don't yet know is just how personal the journey will become, or how much what unfolds here will come to mean, not just to Alessandra, but to everyone involved.

Now, the challenge is helping Alessandra make space for what comes next, take a step towards the special surprise she has planned for her niece, and do it without feeling that she is losing what matters most.

Episode 3 · Poland

Warsaw · hosted by Agnieszka Witkowska & Chimène van Oosterhout

Live Better For Less Poland, Warsaw episode

Biola and Pawel have just moved into their forever home in Warsaw, but it's not quite finished, and old habits are quietly getting in the way. Agnieszka and Chimène arrive to help them clear the clutter, change what needs changing, and finally make the home they've always dreamed of feel like theirs, with a personal space for everyone in the house.

Read the full episode synopsis

Biola and Pawel have just moved into their forever home. After nearly twenty years living abroad, they returned to Poland and have now moved into the home they built for themselves. It should feel like a new beginning. Instead, old habits are starting to take over.

The house isn't quite finished. The move cost more than planned. And somewhere in the background, old habits and old patterns are quietly making things harder than they need to be, for both of them, in ways they haven't quite found the words for yet.

When Agnieszka and Chimène arrive, they find a couple who care deeply about each other and about making this work. A home with more potential than its current state suggests. And a situation that, when you look a little closer, is about more than the practical question of what to keep and what to let go.

Getting this home, and this household, to where it needs to be will take more than a clear out. The things piling up around them are only part of the story. The habits behind them, and what those habits say about how Biola and Pawel have been living, matter just as much.

This is a home that two people worked incredibly hard to have. A fresh start in the truest sense of the word. Getting it to feel that way is going to take honesty, patience and a willingness to do things differently.

Agnieszka and Chimène are ready for that challenge. The question is whether Biola and Pawel are too.

Episode 4 · France

Lyon · hosted by Alexandre Cressiot & Juan Avellaneda

Sorting through a wardrobe of clothes, Live Better For Less France, Lyon episode

Alicia and Lawrence have a home they love and a room they never talk about. Alex and Juan arrive in Lyon to help them finally face what's been piling up and turn a long-neglected space into something the whole family can enjoy.

Read the full episode synopsis

Alicia and Lawrence have created a warm, busy family home in Lyon. With two young children, hectic jobs and a shared love of beautiful things, life moves fast, and not everything gets dealt with.

There is one room in the house that tells that story better than any other. A room that started as somewhere to put things temporarily. That became somewhere to put things indefinitely. And that has quietly grown into the one space in the home that nobody really wants to talk about.

They have a plan for it. They've always had a plan for it. But between work and the children and everything else life throws at a young family, the plan has never quite happened.

When Alex and Juan arrive, they find a couple who are warm, motivated and more than ready for change. What they also find is that the room is only part of the story. The habits that filled it didn't happen overnight, and changing them will take more than clearing a few boxes.

There is a vision for what this space could become. One that would mean a great deal to the whole family. And Alicia and Lawrence are closer to making it happen than they realise, they just need the right push, and the right pair of eyes, to get them there.

With energy, expertise and a clear sense of what's possible, Alexandre and Juan set about helping Alicia and Lawrence see their home, and their habits, in a completely different light.

Episode 5 · Germany

Geesthacht · hosted by Motsi Mabuse & Riccardo Simonetti

Eric's gaming and tech collection on display, Live Better For Less Germany, Geesthacht episode

Years of gaming and tech collecting have quietly taken over Eric and Jenny's family home. With Jenny due to return to work and her new workspace buried beneath the clutter, Motsi and Riccardo arrive in Geesthacht, Germany, to help Eric see how his unused tech could fund something closer to his heart.

Read the full episode synopsis

Eric and Jenny have a lot going on. Two small children, demanding jobs, and a home that's quietly filling up with keyboards, monitors, gadgets and tech of every kind. Eric's passion for gaming and all things tech runs deep. But somewhere along the way, it's started to take up more space than anyone bargained for.

Jenny is patient. She's also reached her limit.

When Motsi Mabuse and Riccardo Simonetti arrive in Geesthacht, they find a home pulled in two directions. On one side, a hobby that's grown into something much bigger than a hobby. On the other, a young family quietly waiting for more room, not just on the shelves, but in every sense of the word.

Germany is the biggest gaming market in Europe. Eric is far from unusual. But understanding why something means so much is very different from knowing what to do about it, and that's exactly where Motsi and Riccardo come in.

Because what follows isn't just about the tech. It's about what the tech represents, and what letting go of some of it might make possible. For the home, for the family, and for Eric himself. There are questions here that go beyond what should stay and what should go. And answering them honestly is going to take more than a clear out.

Motsi and Riccardo aren't just here to help Eric make space. They're here to help him see what he might gain by doing so, and what it really means to invest in what matters most.

Episode 6 · Netherlands

Delft · hosted by Chimène van Oosterhout & Alexandre Cressiot

Cycling through Delft, Live Better For Less Netherlands episode

Pascalle and Sander are busy, hardworking and completely in sync, except at home. Chimène and Alexandre arrive in Delft to help them sort the space they share, build habits that move them forward, and make room for the life they actually want together.

Read the full episode synopsis

Pascalle and Sander are, by any measure, a couple who have it together. Pascalle runs a flower shop six days a week, and still finds the energy to train hard alongside Sander. Between the two of them, they are disciplined, motivated and devoted to each other.

At home, though, things tell a slightly different story.

Sander moved into the apartment Pascalle had already called home for seven years only a few months ago, and the space hasn't quite caught up with their new life together. Room hasn't been made for two. Things from separate lives haven't been properly combined. And two people who are excellent at being busy haven't yet found the time, or the habits, to properly settle in together. It's just not quite home. Not yet.

When Chimène and Alex arrive in Delft, they find an apartment with real potential and a couple who genuinely want to make it work. They also find the kind of patterns that tend to develop when two people are always moving forward and never quite standing still. Things bought on impulse and never really used. A spare room that's quietly become a dumping ground, with a few unusual surprises in there. A pace of life so relentless that neither of them has stopped long enough to think about what they actually want their shared life to look like.

Helping Pascalle and Sander is going to mean more than just a clear-out. It's going to mean slowing down, which, for these two, might be the hardest part of all. Trying things they've never made time for. And finally deciding, together, what kind of home they actually want to build.

Episode 7 · Spain

Madrid · hosted by Juan Avellaneda & Lodovica Comello

Live Better For Less Spain, Madrid flatshare episode

Jacobo, Aitor and Lara live together in an apartment in Madrid with a shared space full of creative potential, but much of it is going unused. Juan and Lodovica arrive to help three very different people finally make one space work for all of them.

Read the full episode synopsis

Jacobo, Aitor and Lara are close friends, creative souls and long-time flatmates in Madrid. They get on well. They genuinely like each other. And they share a flat that, on paper, should work perfectly for all three of them.

In practice, it's a different story.

Three people with three very different lives, three very different relationships with their belongings, they've created their personal spaces to their lifestyles and liking, but the shared space has been abandoned. It's not a crisis. Nobody's about to fall out. But it's not quite right either, and all three of them, somewhere underneath the surface, know it.

Spain has one of the highest proportions of flat sharers in Europe. Jacobo, Aitor and Lara are far from alone. But that doesn't make their flat work any better.

When Juan and Lodovica arrive, they find a space with far more potential than its current state suggests and three people who are more ready for change than they might initially let on. Because underneath the shared routines and the easy friendship, each of them has something they're working towards. Something that matters. And a home that, right now, isn't helping them get there.

Getting this right won't just mean sorting through what they own. It will mean understanding what each of them actually needs from the space, from each other, and from the lives they're each quietly trying to build.

Three people. One flat. A lot of potential. Juan and Lodovica are here to help them find it.
